Moving?!

As you all know David and Cheri are moving to North Carolina on Sat. and taking that soon to be baby girl. Now Tim and Jamie have sold their house and will be taking my three wonderful grandsons to North Carolina. So what's a mother and grandmother do??? Move to North Carolina too!! If anyone needs prayer it is me! I want to go but I am having a hard time thinking about leaving some place I have lived for 64yrs!! Please pray I have peace about this whole thing. Thanks!! I had fun taking care of Myles while the rest of the family went to Disneyland and stayed. He played in the water with the hose three different times on Monday. He was having a great time filling up a big tub and then climbing in it!! On Tues. Grandma Joyce came over and we went swimming. Myles swam a little bit but it was back to the hose for him. Tomorrow we leave for up north to visit my sister and brother. We are going to the Frog Jump Fair!! bye for now and thank you for your prayers.

Early Call

Got a 6:30 call this morning from one of the Monroe teachers who wasn't feeling well. Could I sub for her today? Sure, why not?!! Boy did I have to hussle to get ready. I even had to take the cover off the pool because it is cleaning day!! I made it and had fun as usual. It was teacher day at Monroe so they had a baked potato lunch for us. That was nice too! Tonight is dinner with the family and church. I enjoy this night very much. Bye for now!

In March I turned 64yr. and my brain just turned off! I'm not sure what I've been up to now!! I know the family went to see the Lion King play and Oliver and Noah did a good job of sitting and listening!! I enjoyed being with the whole family. After the show we went to dinner a the Claim Jumper, yummy!! David and Cheri are moving to North Carolina in May a taking that little GIRL with them!! Yes, they are having a girl. I just can't believe it! Subbed in a class that went on a field trip to the Cabrillo Museum. That was a fun day. Have been having fun with My Wonderful Grandsons!! Always have fun with them. Yesterday they came over and we swam all day!! Grandma Joyce came to. All ways easier with two. Oliver has become a fish. He dives and paddles everywhere. He sure can keep up with his cousin Kevin in the pool. Oh, yes, we had Mother's day here with the Smith's and the Butcher's. That was fun. Friday we are going to Sea World. Tim is on vacation now so we get to do some fun things. I am blessed that they let me tag along! Well that's the update for now. I'm sure I did other things but their gone now!!

Hi, it's me again! I've just been so lazy I didn't want to take the time to write. That's what happens when you retire, you get lazy! I've been having some fun just stolling around in Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond. Buying plants and planting them. Watching it rain, rain and then rain some more, ugh!! I subbed in a 2nd. grade yesterday and today. Wow, 2nd grade is great! If I'd known about 2nd grade years ago I might have changed ( probably not!!) They can work independently for long periods of time!! Needless to say I had fun. As you know Jerry and I will be watching the 3 greatest grandkids in the world for four days while Tim and Jamie have some time together. Please pray for us during that time, thanks.

This one is for Laura. She thinks I have died and gone to heaven because I don't write in my blog!! Life is slow for this retiree!! I like to read alot and walk around my garden and procrastinate about what I want to do! Then I go back and read! I did do some subbing the past few weeks. I subbed in a 6th grade science class. That was different for me. And I found out that 6th graders are rude!! They are not as nice as first graders!!! On that same day there was also a major earthquake drill. Now that was alot of fun to keep 35 6th graders under control. I will probably not do that again!!!!! I subbed in a spanish kinder class whose teacher also teaches 8th grade Spanish in Monroe's middle school. So there I was in middle school again! This was a very nice group of kids and they were very cooperative. I really enjoyed working with them! The kinder's kept telling me I wasn't doing it right. " That's not right, Mrs." It was cute. So now you are up to date on my goings on. It is Sunday so we just got back from breakfast with the kids, which is all ways a great start for a Sunday. I like Sundays because I get to see the grands in the morning and then again in the evening!! Now it is reading time and then I'm off to a friend's 60th birthday celebration. Bye for now.

Long Time

It has been so long since I have blogged blogger for got who I was! I had to reopen everything. So let me see, what has been happening? The 5 of you who read my blog already know about everything that's happening in my life. I had a wonderful Christmas with the T. Smith family staying all night so I got to have Christmas morning with the grands. What fun that was for me. We had a wonderful breakfast that Jamie fixed then the D. Smith's came and we opened gifts and played with the toys. The Butcher's came for lunch and we had this great tortilla soup that Jamie made. Then we all went to T and J's to see their new painted home. Wow, what a fun filled day. Before Christmas I had great fun watching the grands while everyone painted the new home. What a fantastic job you all did. Thank you for your help. We are so greatful to have such wonderful friends. And then the FLU hit. What a bummer!!! I'm not going to tell you about it because Tim already did a good job of that!! I'm just glad it is over. I was so tired of being cooped up in the house I went to work for fun in my friend Shelley's kindergarten class last Thurs. Then I subbed in a first grade on Friday. Monday was a holiday and I went to a movie with my friend Glenda. After the movie I took Glenda to see the Smith's home ( which she loved) and then I brought the kids home with me so mom and dad could do some shopping, ect. Today, Tues. I went to rubberband excercie class with Pat. We try to go every Tues. but Pat subs alot so don't all ways make it. Now I'm caught up!! Also want to tell all of you I love reading your bloggs so keep on blogging!!

A few weeks ago my daughter-in-law Cheri and I bought and put up a cute little Christmas tree. I've been feeding that tree two big jars of water everyday. It just kept drinking it up! On Thurs. the family came for dinner and church like always but I was at a Christmas party with my Monroe friends. When I got home there were many decorations missing!!!! Well, while I was looking for them I was feeling under the tree, WET, WET, WET!!! It was sopping wet under the tree! Guess where all the water went for two weeks, ugh! In the morning I rushed over to Target and got a new strand and Jerry and I transferred the fully decorated tree from one stand to the other!! Yes, there was a crack in the old stand!! Lesson: check your stand for cracks each year!

Weekly Update!

Boy does time fly! I've been working so much I think I forgot I retired! I was even the librarian one day. That was fun because I saw so many of my old students. I worked Wed. thru Friday last week and then I got an early morning call this morning. And I had to make cookies with the class!! I never made cookies with my own class because I didn't like the mess and confusion!! It was a good thing I had just made cookies over the weekend with Oliver so I knew what to do! Oliver spent the night Fri. He was up at 6:30 ready to make cookies! I made him wait a little, while grama still snoozed. We had the cookies done by 9:30!! Grandkids are great! I'm off with Grandma Joyce for breakfast and shopping tomorrow. I love to go for breakfast. Just saw some more pictures of baby Mckyah, she sure is a cutie. Congrates to that Butcher family, a girl!!! Well, I'm going to take my shoes off and let my hair down and start relaxing for the night. Hope your day was great and you have a good night.

A Little News!

Saturday was cropping day. I spent the whole day, until 5 anyway, at the Klecker's working on my retirement album. When I got home I found many more pictures to go in it!! I thought I could move on to something else. Sunday was that good ole breakfast day, yea!! and then church in the evening. Tues. Jerry and I went to Downtown Disney to get something for Noah's bithday. Then we just went in and out of the other shops. Can you believe they weren't playing Christmas music? What a shame!!! Today, Wed. I got an early morning subbing call but couldn't remember my pen number so missed it. But that's okay because I had plans to spend the day with my new daughter-in-law Cheri. She came by and helped me put up my Christmas decorations and then we went to lunch. Fun to get to know her. Thanks Corrie for saying you would help but I think I'm done. Now I just need a tree. I'm thinking of getting one like Tim and Jamies, alive and in a pot! That's it for now, keep praising the Lord!!

Hope you had a fun filled Thanksgiving Day. I did. I like being with friends and family. David and Cheri went north to her dad's and we were at the Butcher's. We had a great dinner and I didn't have to do the work thanks to Grandma Laura!! That is sure something to be thankful for!! Jamie made her wonderful potatoes and a broccoli dish. I'm listening to KOST while I'm typing this and trying to get in the Christmas mood. For some reason I just don't want to get down all the mess and get the decorations up. I need Corrie and Laura since they already did Corrie's place!! I subbed two days this week in the fourth grade ( as before) and in a second grade. Some of the second graders were kids I had last year. That was fun plus I knew the other kids too from last year! Subbing is fun because you can just say good-bye and walk out the door when the day is done! I also enjoy seeing the other teachers and getting all the lastest up dates on what's been happening. Well,Paise the Lord for an other day!

Time Flies

Well how time flies!! It has been over a week since I added to my blog. Can I even remember where I was!!?? Oh, yea, I remember, a week ago on Friday I subbed in a first grade from you know where!! They had no manners what so ever. They NEVER quit talking all day!! I had no voice by the end of the day, wow!! So I rested on Sat. and Sun. Sun. I started watching the grands for two days. Busy, Busy!!! I did have a chance to play with just Myles while Oliver and Noah were at preschool! That was fun. On Tues. Grandma Joyce and I took the kids to the park in the morning. Thank the Lord for Joyce!! We had a great time and Jerry brought us MacDonald's for lunch so we had a picnic. The kids thought it was great. Myles preferred fries over a banana, can you imagine that!!!! They took nice naps that afternoon. Then it was Friday again and I subbed in the best first grade in the world. It was the gifted class so you can imagine what they were like. What a difference a week can make!! Sat. was rest day again. When you are retired you get to rest alot!! So here it is Mon. and I'm getting ready to go to the market. Isn't life exciting!! I just thank the Lord I can get up each morning and Praise Him!

Thursday Ramblings!!

Got an early morning call, "we'er going to Disneyland. Want to be there by 9:00". Well, it is 8:00 and I am still in bed reading and Jerry is snoring away!! I was up and dressed and almost out the door and I hear " where are you going?" Jerry said he would meet us out there. We always enjoy going to Disney with the kids. I just enjoy being with the family. Jer and I had our picture taken with the grands in front of the big Christmas tree. I wanted a Christmas card picture. We had lunch at the fancy pizza place with a very different kind of pizza. I guess it's good to try different things!! Yesterday I had a fun day starting with breakfast with my friend Sharon. We then went to the Huntington Beach city library where you can buy books cheap from the Friends of the Library. Then we took a long walk around the park. Saw lots of cute dogs being walked!! Tonight is Church and I have my flannel story to get ready and dinner too. Tomorrow I sub again. Sure hope it doesn't rain!!

Subbing

Today was something really different for me, I subbed in a fourth grade class!! Big kids, yup! Some of them I had in first grade and they hadn't changed a bit just got bigger!!! It was strange to say sit and read and answer these questions. You can''t do that in first grade! I enjoyed visiting with old friends too. I get to go back on Fri. to sub in a first grade where I'm sure I will feel right at home. I need to get in the very messy garage and find some of my fun Nov. activites. Yes I did save some stuff!!! Well it is 9:00 and I'm tired. Hard day you know! Up at 6:00. Night all.

Here Goes Nothing!!!

Well here I go!! Yesterday was a trial run. Tim was just being funny!! This morning, as usual, the family went to breakfast at Gourmet Pie. What a fun time with the grands. I've learned to bring along a book or two to keep them entertained while we wait for the food! As always the boysenberry pancakes were out of this world.That is my favorite there. If you go sometime try them. It is raining this morning. Glad I got the yard done yesterday. The gardener really cleaned it out. Wow! Tomorrow will be my first subbing job!! Will let you know how it goes. Well that's it for now.
